If the mind becomes balanced and detached, and comes to dwell in its own true home, imbued with reverence for the Divine, then it enjoys the essence of supreme spiritual wisdom; it shall never feel hunger again.
From the solemn gloom of the temple children run out to sit in the dust. God watches them play and forgets the priest.
Lao Tan said, “I was letting my mind wander in the beginning of things.”
“What does this mean?” asked Confucius. Lao Tan said, “It means to attain Perfect Beauty and wander in Perfect Happiness. He who attains Perfect Beauty and wanders in Perfect Happiness may be called the Perfect Man.”
Likewise the spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words. And he who searches the hearts of men knows the mind of the spirit, because the spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
