Working hours are never long enough. Each day is a holiday, and ordinary holidays are grudged as enforced interruptions in an absorbing vocation.
Internally I am a hermit, and externally I am a prince. Arms mean protection to the poor and destruction of the tyrant. Baba Nanak had not renounced the world but had renounced maya, that is, self and ego.
Your hills, O Earth, your snow-clad mountain peaks, your forests, may they show us kindliness… Impart to us vitalising forces that come, O Earth from deep within your body, your central point, your navel, purify us wholly.
All religions exhort us to cleanse the heart of malice, greed, hate and anger. All religions hold out the gift of Grace as the prize for success in this cleaning process.
Speak out against corruption. We need to fight injustice, but without anger or violence. Fight with a calm and serene mind.
