The way to overcome the angry man is with gentleness, the evil man with goodness, the miser with generosity and the liar with truth.
As a camel beareth labour, and heat, and hunger, and thirst, through deserts of sand, and fainteth not; so the fortitude of a man shall sustain him through all perils.
The devotee engages to the best of his or her ability into the play of life, fulfilling his or her role on this earth as student, employee, husband, wife…But at the heart of the devotee is a burning desire for the Lord.
To have a body is to suffer. Those who understand this, detach themselves from all that exists and stop imagining or seeking anything. The sutras say, “To seek is to suffer. To seek nothing is bliss.” When you seek nothing, you’re on the Path.
One, who earns leadership of the people by working ceaselessly for their welfare, finally realises that he has been rewarded with many added advantages.
