
That which gives pleasure to one man gives pain to another. That sage who identifies himself with the imperishable Self and stands as a spectator of the mental modifications enjoys supreme peace and infinite bliss.


Most of the luxuries and many of the so-called comforts of life, are not only not indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation of mankind.



When an exalted soul realises that all sentient beings are one in relation to the Supreme – that is, that all beings are the minute parts of the One – how shall he have any more delusion and what grief will come to him?

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
