To whom praise and blame are equal, who is silent, content with every fortune, home-renouncing, steadfast in mind, and worships Me, that person is dear to me.
That one I love who is incapable of ill will, and returns love for hatred. Living beyond the reach of I and mind, pain and pleasure, full of mercy, contented, self-controlled, with all his heart and all his mind given to Me – with such a one I am in love.
With all fears dissolved in the peace of the Self and all desire dedicated to Brahmn, controlling the mind and fixing it on Me (God), sit in meditation with Me as your only goal.
There are two ways of passing from this world – one in light, and one in darkness. When one passes in light he does not come back but when one passes in darkness he returns.
He who loves me is made pure; his heart melts in joy. He rises to transcendental consciousness by the rousing of his higher emotional nature. Tears of joy flow from his eyes, his hair stands on end, his heart melts in love. The bliss in that state is so intense that, forgetful of himself and his surroundings, he sometimes weeps profusely, or laughs, or sings, or dances; such a devotee is a purifying influence upon the whole universe.
The faith of every man, O Arjuna, accords with his nature, Man is made up of faith; as is his faith, so is he. The threefold austerity practiced with faith by men of balanced mind, without any expectation of reward, is said to be pure.
No one who does good deeds will ever come to a bad end, either here or in the world to come. When such people die, they go to other realms where the righteous live.
Only by devotional service is the Supreme Truth, Krishna, pleased, and by His inconceivable energy. He can reveal Himself to the heart of the pure devotee.
