This condition is highly infectious.
The symptoms of Gonorrhea in both men and women include:
- Pain while passing urine
- Pain during intercourse
- Unusual discharge from the penis or vagina
- Bleeding in-between periods for women
- Pelvic pain is common
- Discomfort in the eyes
The causes and risk factor includes:
- Young girls between in the age group of 16-19
- Young men between the ages of 19-24

Gonorrhea can be diagnosed by the above mentioned symptoms. Apart from the symptoms the doctor may advise a urine test for both men and women. Sometimes a swab from the anus, urethra, vagina taken with the help of a cotton bud, may help determine the condition of Gonorrhea.
Sometimes Oral Gonorrhea may occur because of Oral sex with infected partner. In this case, swab from the throat is taken for test.
Gonorrhea is curable. The gynecologist who is a specialist doctor for ladies or the General physician will guide with the medicine. Prevention is always better than cure.

- Avoiding of sex with infected partner
